If you’ve been hoping for a sequel to Chunsoft’s visual novel-adventure, 999 (goodness knows I have), you’ll be pleased to hear about the developer’s new game Extreme Escape Adventure: Good People Die which is on its way to the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

The game is Japan-only at the moment and Aksys Games, the company that localised 999 for the English market, says it has “no plans at this time regarding localisation”, but I’m hopeful somebody will pick this one up. Especially considering the Nintendo 3DS doesn’t really have any big visual novel games yet.

The game starts similarly to its spiritual predecessor, with a group of people trapped in a mysterious warehouse. 999′s numbered bracelets seem to be making a comeback, and the last shot of the trailer shows a door carrying a nine. Whether Zero is about to start a new round of the Nonary Game remains to be seen, but we’ll certainly keep an eye on this one for you.
